TEHRAN -- One of the most memorable actors of the favorite Iranian series “My Uncle Napoleon”, Mohammad Varshochi, passed away at Tehran’s Pars Hospital on March 29.

He played the role of Cadet Officer Ghiasabadi at the TV series which was directed by Nasser Taqvaii in 1976. The series was adapted from a novel under the same title by Iraj Pezeshkzad.
He has played in several films during his 60-year-career. Films “The Deer”, “Kamalolmolk”, “Maryam and Mitil” and “The Mirza Noruz’s Shoes” are amongst his credits.
He has also performed other outstanding roles in different popular TV series including “Ziba Barbershop”, “Hezar-Dastan” and “Heroes Never Die”. His role as Sha’bun in “Noruz Holiday” TV series is also one of his most brilliant plays.
“I have played the role of officer in many TV series and films and whenever I asked about the reason for choosing me for this role, they said that you born officer,” Varshochi mentioned in one of his interviews.
He recalled his role in “My Uncle Napoleon” as his best work, saying that “I was at the height of my fame”.
